As previously noted, I am obsessed with built-ins. The good news on that front is my obsession lends itself to adding charm, character and storage to our home. Combining this with a recent interest in bench seating and a long-standing relationship with the carpenters at RoundTuit, an addition to the dining room was inevitable.
We used the color the same as we had previously, Benjamin Moore Britannia Blue (1623), to paint the shelves and doors. Britannia Blue is a lovely complement to Silver Mist which is featured on most of our interior walls. Both Britannia Blue and Silver Mist are blue and gray. Depends on the time of day and the amount of sunshine…they are truly the moody blues. Our door and drawer hardware are from Anthropologie and are a touch fancier than the pulls and handles in our kitchen yet totally harmonious.
We love all the storage that the built-in provides, including the bench storage. And, I really love how it looks. A total home run.
