There is so much to love about Atlanta, Chicago and Miami. All three are dynamic cities with lots of potential and a compelling story. A charming Southern metropolis home to Fortune 100 companies Coca-Cola and UPS; a lakefront city boasting the country’s most compelling downtown architecture; and the hub of the Americas with a population that is nearly 70% foreign-born.
So, if we were moving to one of these American cities, what would a budget of nearly $2 million afford us?

422 Cumnor, Kenilworth, Illinois
In the gorgeous North Shore of Chicago, a short Metra ride from downtown, is Kenilworth. With a nationally ranked high school, New Trier, quaint shopping, and easy access to Lake Michigan, this neighborhood is tough to top. There are a few homes for sale between $1.5 and $2.0 million, and this one at 422 Cumnor Kenilworth, Illinois, 60043, is enchanting. A recent update as part of a designer showhouse, nothing needs to be done to this home. Sadly, a lucky family has the home under contract. As it qualifies in the “dream home” category, I’ve saved it in Zillow!

43 Huntington, Atlanta, Georgia
Ahh, I really love white houses. This charmer at 43 Huntington, Atlanta, Georgia 30309, holds a special place in my heart. The floors are dark, hardwood perfection, the walls a creamy white. The basement is small but fully encapsulated. And, don’t get me started on the backyard’s English-inspired garden. The second floor view of midtown Atlanta would really close the deal. Alas, the home is trading hands shortly, as the current owner has been recently transferred.

5701 Maggiore, Coral Gables, Florida
Finally, right down the street from our current abode, 5701 Maggiore Coral Gables, Florida, 33146, has been on the market for awhile. A recent re-staging neutralized the color scheme. Situated on a corner lot, the home has tremendous outdoor appeal and features easy access to South Miami, downtown Coral Gables and Coconut Grove.
